SoCom Officer Says Intelligence Project Found Sept. 11 Leader: From The Tampa Tribune:

"TAMPA - The flight path from Washington to Tampa had become a familiar one for Tony Shaffer.

From October 1999 to January 2001, Shaffer, an Army Reserve officer, figures he shuttled between his office at the Defense Intelligence Agency and U.S. Special Operations Command a dozen times.

On the southbound leg of one of those trips early in 2000, Shaffer said he carried a computer-generated chart showing the names and photographs of several Middle Eastern men believed tied to an al-Qaida cell in New York.

One of the men identified was a young Egyptian named Mohamed Atta, he said."
